My new book ‘Eye of the Storm’ is finally out in the world.
And... I'm exhausted.
In a good way!
Book launches are strange beasts.
You spend months upon months in relative solitude wrestling with ideas, and then suddenly you're expected to talk about them non-stop.
My voice is hoarse from podcast interviews, my inbox is overflowing, and I've consumed enough coffee to fuel a small country.
But beneath the chaos, I feel oddly calm.
There's relief in finally releasing these ideas into the world, like setting down a heavy backpack after a long hike.
The early feedback has been humbling.
I received a message yesterday from a Founder/CEO friend of mine who shared the following with his network:
“If you want to master your emotions, maintain clarity, and act decisively when facing uncertainty and pressure, you need to read Scott’s book!”
I’ve now been invited to speak at their event next week to share my insights, tools and techniques.
That's exactly why I wrote this book.
Not to add to the noise about decision-making frameworks, but to address what actually happens in our minds and bodies when pressure hits.
We all know what we *should* do when facing tough decisions.
The problem is that stress hijacks our thinking precisely when we need clarity most.
- The argument with your partner where you say something you regret
- The high-stakes meeting where you freeze instead of speaking up
- The career pivot you agonise over for months
In each case, the quality of your decision depends less on having more information and more on your ability to think clearly under pressure.
If you've picked up a copy of ‘Eye of the Storm,’ thank you.
Really.
Books are strange things - they exist as ideas in your head for years before becoming real objects that people can hold.
Knowing that my words are now sitting on your bookshelf is beyond fulfilling.
Until next time,
Scott
